On
ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ News 24's HARDtalk tonight (Tuesday 29 April 2003), Jon Sopel
talks to James Watson, co-discoverer of DNA.
Around
fifty years ago today two men walked into a public house in Cambridge
and told the barman they'd discovered the meaning of life.
Their
discovery remains the basis for the most controversial scientific
and ethical issues today: genetic engineering, designer babies,
human cloning and so-called Frankenstein foods.
They
had unlocked the secrets of DNA. James Watson is one of those who
discovered DNA.
