ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½
THREE, the channel that brings you Monkey Dust, Angry Kid and the
ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Three Blobs, is looking for entertaining animators for the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½
THREE New Animation Award.
The
six best animations will be shown on ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ THREE and the overall winner
will be funded to develop a series of their animation for the channel.
ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½
THREE is a multi-cultural, interactive channel, with a mission to
engage a demanding and discerning 25 to 35-year-old audience so
the search is on for animators with ideas that reflect the cutting
edge of the channel.
If
you've created an animated character(s) that you think would fit
the bill then we want to hear from you.
The
awards are open to any animator who may have produced their own
animations but who hasn't had a director credit for work shown on
UK terrestrial television.
Any
style of animation is acceptable, 2D, 3D, there are no restrictions.
To
apply, entrants must send ten seconds to a minute's worth of animation
on VHS, DVD or CD ROM with a brief summary of their idea (one side
of A4) and contact details to:

The
closing date for applications is Friday 12 September 2003.
Entrants
should read the rules and regulations which apply to all ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Talent
schemes on the website at

Entries
will be whittled down to a shortlist of 20 which will be shown on
the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Talent website where the public will be able to vote online
for their favourite animation.
A
ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ THREE panel will select the six most promising animations taking
the online vote into consideration.
Six
finalists' animations will be showcased on ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ THREE later in the
year.
The
overall winner gets a development deal with a view to a series of
their characters being produced for broadcast on ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ THREE.
The
ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ THREE New Animation Award forms part of this year's ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Talent
campaign, the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½'s unique initiative to find and develop new broadcast
talent in the UK, which launched on the 6 March for the fourth successful
year.
Other
schemes currently on offer are looking for sports reporters to be
part of the Olympic reporting team for Athens 2004, trainee weather
presenters and directors to make a music video for Top of the Pops.
All the
ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½'s digital services are now available on ,
the new free-to-view digital terrestrial television service, as well
as on satellite and cable.
Freeview
offers the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½'s eight television channels, interactive services
from ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½i, as well as 11 ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ radio networks.
