Paxman to interview J.K. Rowling
Jeremy
Paxman has interviewed Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling in a UK
broadcast exclusive for the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½.
The
interview, which is being produced by the Newsnight team, will be
broadcast in a special programme on ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ TWO on Thursday 19 June,
ahead of the publication of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix,
the long-awaited fifth novel in the series, on Saturday 21 June.
During
the interview, Rowling talks about Order of the Phoenix, gives Jeremy
Paxman a taster from the new book, and provides an insight into
the inspiration behind the novels.
She
also discusses the impact her much-loved books have had on children's
literature.
After
the interview Jeremy Paxman said: "She talks honestly about
her fame, her wealth and the time she even considered breaking her
arm to avoid the pressures of writing.
"As
well as dropping some clues about what will happen in the Order
of the Phoenix, she raises intriguing new possibilities about Harry's
longer term future.
"We've
been trying for 18 months to get an interview with J.K. Rowling
- I think it was worth the wait."
The
programme will be broadcast on Thursday 19 June on ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ TWO at 7.30pm.
All the

as on satellite and cable.
Freeview
