Listeners on the increase for ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Sheffield


Independent figures released today show that the number of people tuning to ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Sheffield has risen by more than 40,000 compared to the number of people listening at the same time last year.


The latest figures, compiled by the Radio Joint Audience Research (RAJAR), show that 303,000 people now listen to the radio station each week, compared with 256,000 a year ago.


The figures also show the station's share of listening in its catchment area has risen to above 10% from under 9%.


Gary Keown, Managing Editor, ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Sheffield, says: "We're really pleased with these results and theyÂ’re really good news for everyone who works at the station.


"They show that people across South Yorkshire really enjoy what they hear on ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Sheffield.


"Our mixture of local news, sport, travel, weather and information, with top class local presenters, is obviously proving very popular."
