David
Clargo named editor of new ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Local Radio station
David
Clargo has been appointed Managing Editor of the new ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Local
Radio station for Coventry and Warwickshire, and takes up
his new role next month.
Currently
the Editor of ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Northampton, David brings vast experience
to the new position.
He
began his radio broadcasting career 14 years ago as a presenter
and joined the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ in 1991, working as a reporter, producer and
presenter at various ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Local Radio stations across the south of
England.
He
became Editor of ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Northampton in January 2001, and before
that was responsible for the split of ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Thames Valley, as it became
two separate radio stations.
David
will oversee the opening of the new ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Local Radio station for
Coventry and Warwickshire following the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½'s announcement earlier
this year that the station is to be added to ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Local Radio's portfolio
of services.
Alongside
new radio studios there will also be an open centre to provide access
to ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Learning facilities similar to the already established centres
in Blackburn, Sheffield and Stoke.
David
Clargo says: "I'm delighted to be taking on one of the most
exciting and challenging jobs in radio.
"Building
on the success of our current local programmes in Coventry and Warwickshire,
we'll provide the fresh and exciting local radio service that people
in the area deserve."
David
Holdsworth, the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½'s Head of Regional and Local Programmes, adds:
"David
has an outstanding track record for creating exciting radio.
"His
experience will be invaluable as we move over from ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ WM and open
the new station."
