ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ unveils new look for Grandstand

ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Sport kicks off 2004 with a new and re-invigorated Grandstand.

Grandstand - which celebrated its 45th birthday last year - continues to build on its strong portfolio with the introduction of some new, inspiring elements to its Saturday and Sunday programmes.

Sunday 11 January launches Sport+, a brand new, studio-based feature which will kick off ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ TWO's Sunday Grandstand.

Sport+ will examine the key sporting issues of the moment and pick up on some of the big stories to have emerged from the previous day's play, with comment from some of those most involved.

Craig Doyle will be the regular studio presenter of Sunday Grandstand, opening the show with Sport+ and providing links to the rest of the show.

Craig is already a familiar face to ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Sport.

Following his roles as the presenter of the British Superbikes and a reporter on the Six Nations rugby - as well as his varied work across the whole of the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ and his background in journalism - Sunday Grandstand sees Craig in his first major presentation role for ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Sport.

Sunday Grandstand is also launching The Big Interview, with John Inverdale as the main presenter.

This new, monthly series will run at the end of Sunday Grandstand and will be profiling some of the biggest names in sport through in-depth interviews.

From 10 January ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ ONE's Saturday Grandstand will be launching a news service which aims to bring viewers all the news as soon it happens.

News bulletins will run during the first two hours of the show and will focus on team news and the latest goals from that day's Premiership games.

Hazel Irvine will be presenting the news bulletins live from the studio.

Each bulletin will last about 90 seconds, with a longer bulletin of around three to four minutes at around 2.30pm.

From 3.00pm, Saturday Grandstand will continue its new and flourishing interactive football scores service.

Viewers can watch Grandstand and get simultaneous access to all of the day's scores and goals by pressing the red button on their controls.

All the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½'s digital services are now available on , the new free-to-view digital terrestrial television service, as well as on satellite and cable.

Freeview offers the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½'s eight television channels, interactive services from ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½i, as well as 11 national ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ radio networks.
