Tracey Emin was interviewed for ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ World Service's Masterpiece programme presented by Tim Marlow, art critic and director of the White Cube Gallery in London.

Ìý

The programme can be heard at 9.05am on Tuesday 20 April. These quotes are taken from Tracey Emin's interview...

Ìý

Future work

Ìý

"Within the next ten years I want to design swimming pools along the River Thames called the London Ovals.

Ìý

"When planes fly to and from Heathrow and they go along the Thames, the pilot says, 'And if you look out of your window to your left you'll see the Emin Ovals'.

Ìý

"When people look down at night there'll be the most beautiful aquamarine and white ovals and inside them people are swimming and having a fantastic time and enjoying London."

Ìý

Fans

Ìý

"A group of firemen in Glasgow had a competition to get the ugliest pin-up they could.

Ìý

"They came across a photo of me, a pretty bad one actually. Then they found a good one of me and started a competition to get other pin-ups of me, the more glamorous the better."

Ìý

The Bed - reactions

Ìý

"The Japanese were really shocked at my dirty slippers. Bloody condoms - fine; shit - fine; dirty knickers - fine, but why would anyone wear dirty slippers inside a house?

Ìý

"In New York they just said yeah yeah, '70s feminism, seen it all before. No fuss, nothing.

Ìý

"Show it in England. Wow! What I was worried about - my mum was going to see it and my boyfriend's mum at the time was going to see it and what would they think of me?

Ìý

"That was more personal what I was worried about, not how the world was going to take this bed."
