John Lilley
has been announced as the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½'s new Head of Regional & Local
Programmes for the South West of England and the Channel Islands.
He was previously Managing Editor of ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Devon from 1998 to 2003,
joined the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ from local and regional newspapers in 1974.

He joined ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Nottingham as a reporter in 1974
before joining ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Lincolnshire as News Editor for the station's
launch in 1980.
Four years later he was appointed Programme Organiser at ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Devon
before moving to manage ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Wiltshire Sound in Swindon and ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio
Humberside in Hull.

He worked in television in Leeds before returning to
the south west to manage ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Devon in 1998.
John Lilley, 52, says: "I am delighted to be leading such a talented
team in one of the most successful English Regions.

editorial responsibility for all the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½'s regional television, radio
and online output in their areas.

John will be taking charge of the UK's most watched
evening news programme ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Spotlight, the current affairs series
Inside Out and the regional version of the Politics Show.
Ìý
The ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ local radio stations in the South West region
are ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radios Devon, Cornwall, Jersey and Guernsey.

John Lilley succeeds the previous post-holder, Leo Devine,
who moves to head up regional services for ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ South East region based
in Tunbridge Wells.
