The ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½'s popular Super League Show returns to ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ TWO (North West, Yorkshire & N.Midlands, N.East & Cumbria and E.Yorkshire & Lincolnshire) on Sunday 6 February with a new lunchtime slot and an extended show to mark the start of Super League Ten.

The new look show will go out every Sunday at 12.30pm and the first show will kick-off with highlights from The Carnegie World Club Challenge which will see Super League Nine Champions Leeds Rhinos take on Canterbury Bulldogs at Elland Road.

The series will be on air until 16 October and will follow each round of Super League through to the Grand Final.

Each 50 minute show will be presented by Harry Gration and will feature the best of the action from the weekend's Super League matches with commentary from Dave Woods and out-spoken views from former Leeds and Hull centre, Garry Schofield.

This show will also offer the opportunity to reflect and debate the current issues in the sport with big-name studio guests and contributions from viewers.

Presenter Harry Gration is delighted with the new slot: "It's really great to have a guaranteed extended slot for this programme which it thoroughly deserves.

"It gives us the chance to develop stories as and when they happen and also involve our audiences in a very positive way."

The Super League Show is produced by Wild Rover Productions for the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ and will be broadcast live from the new Broadcasting Centre at ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Leeds.

Series producer Neil Morrow can't wait for the new series to kick-off: "This will be the seventh year of The Super League Show and I know it's a cliché to say that the sport gets bigger and better every year but it really is true and I'm delighted to say that we will be there to cover the very best of the action."

The ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ has also made a commitment to cover rugby league in more ways across more stations for the new season, both on radio and television.

For the first time North West Tonight will show highlights from the weekend's biggest games in a regular slot during Monday night's sports bulletin, ensuring fans have another chance to see all the action.

The ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½'s regional radio services are also warming up for a busy season, with unrivalled coverage:

ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Leeds will have three weekly programmes dedicated to Rugby League.

Friday Nitesport (7.00-10.00pm) and Saturday's West Yorkshire Sport (6.00-8.00pm) will have live Super League action and Sunday's West Yorkshire Sport (3.00-6.00pm) includes Super League and National League action.

Expert summarisers include current players Barrie McDermott, Brad Davis and Jamie Bloem plus legends Lee Crooks and David Hobbs.

ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Lancashire will be doing commentary on new side Blackpool Panthers to add to their regular weekly discussion programme on Wednesday nights.

ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Merseyside will have programmes every Monday (8.05-9.00pm) and Thursday (7.05-8.00pm) with previews, features and phone-ins to add to their commentary on St Helens, Widnes Vikings, Warrington Wolves and Wigan Warriors every weekend.

ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ GMR will have programmes every Sunday (2.30-6.00pm), Friday (7.00-10.00pm) and Saturday (6.00-8.00pm).

On Thursday evenings (6.00-8.00pm) Trevor Hunt and Jack Dearden present a magazine programme featuring guests from the world of Rugby League.

ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Humberside will have commentary on Hull FC and Hull KR in The Oval Ball from 2.30-6.00pm every Sunday afternoon.

ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio York and Radio Cumbria follow their National League sides with commentary and news on all the teams.

There will also be coverage on the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½'s local Where I Live websites (bbc.co.uk/england) and Ceefax pages, with regular audio streaming of games and programmes.

This extensive coverage of rugby league is part of the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½'s comprehensive regional commitment to the sport as Head of Sport for ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ English Regions, Charles Runcie, explains:

"We are committed to reflecting the rugby league scene to our millions of viewers and listeners in the north of England, for whom the sport is such a vital part of their lives and communities."
