ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ licence payers are being given the opportunity to question Governors and senior executive staff at an Annual General Meeting, the Board of Governors announced today.

Held in London on Tuesday 19 July 2005, the AGM will provide a chance for members of the public to quiz the Governors, comment on ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ performance and have their say on the programmes and services they pay for through their licence fee.

Further events will be held at ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ sites across the United Kingdom over the autumn and winter.
Ìý
The Annual General Meeting is one of a number of initiatives introduced by the Board of Governors over the past year as part of its agenda for change.

Others have included the new Governance Unit, which is providing independent and objective advice to the Board outside the management chain; a new Governors' website; and over the next 12 months the implementation of service licences which will spell out the remit, budget and performance for each ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ channel and service.
