Richard Deverell, currently Chief Operating Officer for CÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½, will care-take the role until the new appointment is made.

Alan Yentob, the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½'s Director for Drama and Entertainment and CÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½, said of Alison's departure: "We are obviously sad Alison is leaving, but we wish her all the very best in her new role.

Alison Sharman became Controller for CÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ in June 2005 and prior to that was Controller for ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Daytime.
