ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Tours has won the silver award in the Tour London Category of the Visit London Awards.

Some 50,000 people visit ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Tours each year to see the corporation's Television Centre in Wood Lane, west London.

Nine tours of the centre are held daily, Monday to Saturday, and a new CÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ tour has been introduced for children.

Tim Davie, ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Director of Marketing, Communications and Audiences, said: "This is a fantastic achievement by everybody involved with ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Tours and is all the more impressive when you consider that London has so many attractions to visit.

On the tours visitors are likely to see television studios, ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ News and get the chance to use an interactive studio.

On the CÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ tour, children also see studios where CÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ presenters work and may visit the Blue Peter garden.

ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Tours took the silver award behind the London Eye in the Tour London category. Last year the London Eye was voted the world's leading attraction by travel agents worldwide.

Tours last 90 minutes to two hours, and run Monday to Saturday at 10.00am, 10.20am, 10.40am, 1.15pm, 1.30pm, 1.45pm, 3.30pm, 3.45pm and 4.00pm.
