ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ News had a hugely successful evening at this year's Royal Television Society Journalism awards.

Ìý

Highlights included winning News Channel of the Year for ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ News 24 and Programme of the Year for Elusive Peace: Israel and the Arabs.

Ìý

And, both home and international current affairs prizes at last night's awards went to ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ programmes for Detention Undercover - The Real Story and Children of Beslan respectively.

Helen Boaden, Director of ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ News, said: "News 24 has come of age with this award and will go from strength to strength.

Ìý

"ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Current Affairs did outstandingly well - gaining all the nominations in both domestic and foreign award categories.

Ìý

"Our winners were outstanding films which demonstrated courage and flair as well as brilliant story telling."

Ìý

The Camera Operator of the Year was won by Nik Millard of the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Ten O'Clock News.

Ìý

The Nations and Regions News Coverage award went to ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Look North for their coverage of the Joanne Nelson murder case.
