Alan Bookbinder, the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½'s Head of Religion & Ethics, is to leave the Corporation this summer. Alan has decided to step down after almost five years in charge of the Manchester-based Department.

He says: "After 25 richly stimulating years in the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ - the last five of which have been full of enjoyable and memorable times in charge of religious output - I'm keen to turn my skills and energies in new directions."

Alan joined the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ as a Trainee Assistant Producer
in 1980 and went on to produce and edit numerous acclaimed series
including Under the Sun, Comrades, Brain
Story and the Bafta-award
winning The Human Body.

He became Head of Religion & Ethics in July 2001, representing the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ on all religious matters across all faiths, and championing religious output on television, radio & online.
