Sali Collins - formerly
a senior editor with ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Five Live - has been announced as
the new Editor of ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Wales.

Sali is currently Project Manager, Broadcast Development at ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Wales.
"It will be a great honour and challenge to lead Wales's only English language national radio station," said Sali.

"I'm really enthusiastic about the job and the opportunity
to build on Radio Wales's success."
Ìý
Sali began her career with ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Wales news before joining the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½'s radio station for London, GLR, where she became deputy controller.
Ìý
At Five Live, she was the editor of the award-winning
Five Live Breakfast programme and oversaw the introduction to the
station of key presenters such as Nicky Campbell and Simon
Mayo.

She was also the editor of Five Live's comprehensive
coverage of the 2002 football World Cup in Japan and Korea.
Ìý
A former pupil of Llanhari Comprehensive School and a fluent Welsh-speaker, Sali was brought up in Barry but now lives in Cardiff with her husband and two children.

Sali takes over as Editor from Julie
Barton who led
Radio Wales to some of its highest listening figures ever in 2005.
