Tamsin O'Brien has been appointed as Head of Regional & Local Programmes (HRLP) for the
ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ in the North West of England.

Tamsin takes over from Leo Devine who will join the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Nations & Regions central
team as Head of Journalism Production.
Ìý
Leo has been HRLP for the North West for the past
two years.
Ìý
ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Controller English Regions, Andy Griffee, says: "Tamsin has been an incredibly
successful leader for the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ in Leeds and I'm delighted that she will now have
the opportunity to bring her skill and experience to managing our local TV,
radio and online services in the North West at such an important crossroads with
exciting plans for the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½'s expansion in the region firmly in the pipeline."

Tamsin is currently Head of ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Yorkshire - a role she has held for the last two
and a half years.

As a former editor of North West Tonight, she already knows
the region well and is looking forward to taking up this new challenge.

She says: "I couldn't resist the chance to come back to Manchester especially at this
exciting time for the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ in the North West.
Ìý
"I am sad to be leaving Leeds and
the great team who work in West Yorkshire but the opportunity to return to the
area where I spent 10 wonderful years is too good to pass up."
Ìý
Tamsin, originally from Bowdon in Cheshire, joined the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ while she was
still at university.
Ìý
After completing the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ journalism course she worked for
several local radio stations throughout the country before moving into TV to
work for Midlands Today.
Ìý
She moved to Manchester in 1994 to work for North West Tonight and started
producing the programme a few years later, becoming editor in 2000.
Ìý
She was
appointed Head of ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Yorkshire in April 2004 and is currently responsible for
all ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ services across the Yorkshire region.

Tamsin currently lives in Sale with her two children.
