New ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Head of Region in Hull announced

Cath Hearne is to be the new head of region for ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Yorkshire and Lincolnshire based in Hull.

Currently the Editor of ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ London News, she replaces Helen Thomas who has
become the new head of region for Yorkshire, based in Leeds.

Cath said: "I'm really looking forward to the move north.
Ìý
"The new region of
Yorks and Lincs has already built a strong reputation - they won the RTS best
regional programme award ahead of ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ London last year.

Previously Editorial Co-ordinator for the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½'s Nations and Regions, Cath was
responsible for co-ordinating the successful launches of the regional current
affairs programme Inside Out and the transfer and integration of the regional
politics programme into The Politics Show on ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ ONE.

She has worked on launches of ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Breakfast and the Ten O'clock News and was a
director in ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ North East and Cumbria - where she won RTS (Royal Television Society) Best Regional
Programme.
Ìý
She was also a director on Premier Passions, a five-part ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ ONE documentary
broadcast in 1998 following the fortunes of Sunderland AFC.
