Grande dame of stage and screen Joan Collins chats to Graham Norton
|
Grande dame of stage and screen Joan Collins and ex-Joseph star Jason Donovan join Graham Norton for this week's edition of ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Two's The Graham Norton Show.
Ìý
They talk about the rising televisual star of their mutual friend David Gest.
Ìý
"David has a wonderful way of getting very nervous, a very warm person ... he's a big, big character," says Jason.
Ìý
"He couldn't be a leading man with a face like that," retorts Joan before reminiscing about Gest's marriage to Liza Minnelli: "We were taking bets in our pew about how long it would last ... that [wedding] kiss wasn't a kiss, it was like sucking chrome off a Cadillac."
Ìý
Jason also talks about playing Joseph in the West End: "The experience for me changed my life. There was a point when I looked at myself and thought 'I wonder where my career's going', it's very unusual for a pop act to walk in to eight shows a week ... [but] I was sort of p***ed off that I didn't get the opportunity to be in the video."
Ìý
And on his appearance in I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here: "I was more apprehensive about whether this was the right thing to do [but] I really enjoyed it, it's a great show ... I'm happy to be known as the guy who didn't eat the anus!"
Ìý
And Graham introduces newcomers Ben's Brother performing live in the studio.
