Chris Harris is South West Sports Personality of the Year

ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ South West Sports Awards celebrate the finest in sporting
achievement over the past year.
Ìý
The awards ceremony, held at Sandy Park,
Exeter, celebrated 14 different categories and was attended by both
professional and amateur sportsmen and women from across the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ South
West region. Ìý
The final award of the evening was the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ South West Sports Personality
of the Year.
Ìý
The award went to Cornwall's British Speedway Grand Prix winner Chris
Harris, the former Trelawney Tiger and Exeter Falcons rider who won the
public vote.
Ìý
The South West Unsung Hero was awarded to Tony White of Exeter Harriers.
Ìý
Tony will now go forward to the star-studded ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Sports Personality Of
The Year programme, where an overall winner will be named.
Ìý
The awards ceremony was broadcast live on ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Local Radio across the
South West of England on Sunday 25 November and highlights shown on
Spotlight.

Robinsons is for the first time the event sponsor of the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½'s Sports
Personality of the Year.
Ìý
They are also sponsoring the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Sports
Unsung Hero Award, now in its fifth year, which recognises and rewards
outstanding contribution by individuals at the grassroots level of local
sport. Bursaries of up to £2,500 are available to the winners of each
regional award, to help them with their work in sport. Ìý
