Award-winning British Iranian comic Omid Djalili will return to ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ One with a second run of his self-penned, self-titled stand up and sketch series, The Omid Djalili Show.

ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ One has re-commissioned a further six episodes to showcase Omid's unique fusion of high energy stand up, comedy sketches and characters, all of which take a sideways swipe at modern day life in a multi-cultural society.

Following transmission of Omid's recent first series The Times said: "He is a mover and a shaker, a master of accents, a genius of disguise and a hyperactive Iranian cherub all rolled into one."

The Guardian also recognised Omid's huge comedic talent, saying: "Right now, the Iranian Djalili is probably one of the most subversive, let alone funniest, comedians around."

Omid says: "I am very grateful for the opportunity to develop more material for a second series and look forward to working with the great team I had for the first one."

The Omid Djalili Show has been re-commissioned by Roly Keating, Acting Controller ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ One, and Lucy Lumsden, and is a ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Vision Production.

The Executive Producer is Kenton Allen, ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Creative Head of Comedy Talent and Comedy North, and the Producer is Alex Walsh-Taylor.
