Katherine Grimes appointed ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Chief Press Officer

The ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ has appointed Katherine Grimes to the post of Chief Press Officer.

In her new role, Katherine will act as a key editorial figure in the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½'s press operation.
Ìý
Reporting to Head of Press Donald Steel and recently appointed Deputy Head of Press Ben Wilson, she will handle all aspects of media liaison and relations, including issues management for the portfolio of ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ public services.

She will also take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Press Office. Ìý
Currently a Media Relations Manager for the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Press Office, Katherine's appointment is with immediate effect.

Donald Steel said: "Katherine is passionate about the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ and its output. She is a professional of outstanding ability and will make a significant contribution to meeting the many demands made on one of the busiest press offices in the country."

As a Media Relations Manager at the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½, Katherine has been actively involved in managing many high profile corporate issues for the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½.

Previously Katherine was a programme publicist for the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½'s Arts output, delivering successful campaigns for The Big Read and Simon Schama's Power Of Art. She was also a member of the team that launched ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Four.

She joined the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ in 2001.

Katherine began her career at PR agency Colman Getty, after studying History at Somerville College, Oxford.
Ìý
Katherine was born in Portsmouth.
