أغر؟´«أ½ 6 Music will be the home of Glastonbury on the أغر؟´«أ½ this year, clearing its schedules to offer listeners continuous coverage during the festival hours of Friday, Saturday and Sunday (26-28 June 2009).

The digital radio station's extensive coverage will be complemented by highlights across TV, radio, online and red button.

Presented by the great and the good of the 6 Music team – Adam & Joe, Steve Lamacq, Cerys Matthews, Lauren Laverne and Gideon Coe – coverage includes live performances, interviews and a voyage into the Glastonbury archives late into the night.

6 Music's music news team, fronted by The Music Week's Julie Cullen and Matt Everitt, bring all the news from Glastonbury in bulletins throughout each day together with a festival news round-up each evening.

The station also welcomes poet Murray Lachlan Young to the team to bring his unique view of the festival to audiences across the weekend.

Andy Parfitt, أغر؟´«أ½'s Controller of Popular Music, said: "Making 6 Music the home for our Glastonbury coverage makes better sense to listeners, as they will be able to tune into 6 Music at any point across the weekend and know they'll get the latest from the festival.

"While people can listen to 6 Music online or through digital TV, this approach will also create a unique offer and buzz around DAB radio."

Radio

أغر؟´«أ½ Radio 1 brings listeners festival highlights with Zane Lowe, Jo Whiley and Annie Mac broadcasting special editions of their regular shows live from site, plus أغر؟´«أ½ Switch will take a look at what's going on for younger audiences the festival with Annie Mac and Nick Grimshaw on Sunday evening. The station's rising star Greg James will be experiencing his first Glastonbury, reporting to the DJs back in London across the weekend as the network's man-on-the-ground.

أغر؟´«أ½ Radio 5 Live's Gabby Logan is at Glastonbury for her Sunday morning programme taking a look at all the topical stories thrown up by the event.

أغر؟´«أ½ Introducing...

أغر؟´«أ½ Introducing, the pan-أغر؟´«أ½ initiative to support new artists, celebrates its second birthday at Glastonbury where the first أغر؟´«أ½ Introducing stage was held in 2007 when it featured The Ting Tings, now Ivor Novello Award-winners.

The أغر؟´«أ½ Introducing stage is now present at key UK music festivals throughout the year including T in the Park and Reading/Leeds, and there are is a network of أغر؟´«أ½ Introducing shows on Radio 1, 1Xtra, 6 Music, the أغر؟´«أ½ Asian Network and across more than 30 local أغر؟´«أ½ radio stations. Musicians can upload their music at bbc.co.uk/introducing for the possible opportunity of being broadcast on أغر؟´«أ½ Radio, which could lead to a slot on one of the أغر؟´«أ½ Introducing stages.

Television

أغر؟´«أ½ Television brings comprehensive coverage with a great line-up of presenters across three channels, with أغر؟´«أ½ Two also simulcasting with أغر؟´«أ½ HD and extensive coverage available via the red button.

أغر؟´«أ½ Two will concentrate on the Pyramid headliners – Neil Young, Bruce Springsteen and Blur – in the late-night slot, plus tea-time slots on Saturday with Dizzee Rascal and Spinal Tap and Sunday with Sir Tom Jones. The programmes will include highlights and performances from artists across the three main stages plus acoustic sets and footage showing the action from elsewhere on site. Lauren Laverne, Zane Lowe, Jo Whiley and Mark Radcliffe lead viewers through the music.

أغر؟´«أ½ Three has all the fun of the festival from early evening till 12.30am on Friday and Saturday, hosted by Reggie Yates and Edith Bowman and featuring popular acts such as Lily Allen, Lady GaGa, Kasabian, Franz Ferdinand and The Ting Tings. Coverage starts later on Sunday at 10.45pm with performances from The Prodigy and Black Eyed Peas.

أغر؟´«أ½ Four will concentrate on heritage act performances from Pyramid Stage artists including the likes of The Specials, Crosby, Stills & Nash and Madness.

Red button and online

Under the red button viewers will be able to access five streams over the weekend, including 30-minute catch-ups of highlights of most of the sets that the أغر؟´«أ½ is filming, and one stream dedicated to visualising 6 Music's coverage of the festival. The streams start at 7.00pm on Friday, 4.20pm on Saturday and 5.30pm on Sunday. Plus, there will be the opportunity to catch up on content during the following week.

Over the weekend bbc.co.uk/glastonbury takes viewers and listeners on site with live webcams situated around the festival and 6 Music's studio. On the website there will be 40 videos of performances from all the big stages, backstage interviews and every act from the أغر؟´«أ½ Introducing arena.
