The life-long benefits that come from playing with paint and slime
28 June 2019
The very thought of giving babies and toddlers free rein with paint, slime and foam might alarm even the most relaxed of parents but there may be a good reason for doing so.
As revealed on The Nine, researchers at the University of Dundee believe this type of messy play can build little ones’ communication skills and understanding of the world around them.
They explained that this sensory experience allows the children to express themselves, and that even a simple act like choosing a colour or making a mark helps them understand that they’re able to have an impact in the world.
