Which house should win Scotland's ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ of the Year 2020?

Judges face a difficult choice to select the perfect Scottish home.

From a compact and cosy fisherman’s cottage in Orkney to a sleek and spacious Georgian town house in Edinburgh, the contenders in this series of Scotland's ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ of the Year have been nothing less than eclectic.

But only one of the 27 candidates can be crowned the winner and the decision must be made by the series' judges architect, Michael Angus, interior designer, Anna Campbell-Jones, and lifestyle blogger, Kate Spiers,

So, which of these highly desirable residences do you think should be named Scotland's ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ of the Year 2020?

The elegant former manse

Judges were charmed by this stunning renovation of an 18th Century former church manse in Brechin. The ivy-clad five bedroom home boasts an elegant formal dining room and an open plan kitchen diner, but also featured a number of fun architectural and decorative quirks.

The shabby-chic semi

An eclectic family home in Stornoway caught the judges’ eyes – and no wonder! Behind the bright front door lies a uniquely styled living space, awash with colour and bold patterns, and crammed full of upcycled and vintage furniture.

The sophisticated Georgian townhouse

The winner of the Edinburgh & Lothians heat, this spacious family home in the capital's upmarket New Town oozes sophistication. Judges were particularly taken by the luxurious adults-only master suite linking the bedroom, dressing area and formal living room.

The astonishing period renovation

The judges were stunned by this ground floor apartment in Glasgow’s west end. The atmospheric Victorian conversion has been meticulously renovated and features an ornate rotunda with glass roof, as well as a sumptuous sitting room with hand gilded cornicing.

The scenic lochside home

It’s all about the view for this home near Dornoch. Renovated and extended, it includes four bedrooms and a hidden grown-up play area, but the star of the show is the large open plan living space with panoramic views of Loch Fleet.

The cosy fisherman's cottage

A derelict cottage brought back to life with love and care clinched the win during the Orkney and Shetland heat. The cosy Stromness home has been cleverly designed to fit all mod cons into a small space, reminiscent of living quarters on a boat. The nautical theme is carried throughout and includes a beautiful feature wall made entirely of driftwood.

The eclectic country cottage

A charming countryside home with an attractive garden won over the judges. The compact cottage near Pitlochry provides a perfect backdrop for its owner’s eclectic artwork, with a muted grey and white palette brought to life with pops of colour. The judges complimented its cosy and comfy atmosphere.

The contemporary home with stunning sea view

Top of the Argyll & West category was this stunning home in Seamill. Situated on the edge of the Firth of Clyde, the large open plan home is specifically designed to make the most of the view over to the Isle of Arran. Judges especially liked the master suite which takes its owners on a clever journey from dressing area to bed, with the view beyond.

The tastefully renovated school

Judges gave this renovated school top marks in the Borders & Southern Scotland round. This tasteful renovation in Kelso is now a family home spread over three floors. Plush velvet sofas and an over-sized gilt mirror take pride of place in the living room, but the judges also enjoyed the elements of children’s décor dotted around the home.
