Interview Apocalypse: How NOT to interview Sophie Turner and Evan Peters
X-Men Apocalypse stars Sophie Turner and Evan Peters in the interview of their careers.
No questions asked
Interviews can get so samey. You get a Hollywood star or two, you get a professional interviewer or two, you get the same old, same old questions.
Always with the questions. Questions, questions, questions.
If only there was a way to conduct an interview without having to focus so much on the interrogative. To take the form to a new height, really break the mould of 'asking a question, listening to the answer and asking more questions based on the response.'
There may be a way to do that. To tease sensitive, interesting and in-depth answers from interviewees without a barrage of queries.
This is not it.

"That was terrible. Let's wind this up."
Matt challenged Dev to a game, in order to shake up the X-Men: Apocalypse interview junket.
The game is that they have to interview Sophie and Evan without asking the usual questions. Or any other questions. Any time one of them does ask a question, they get a bad mark - whoever has the most at the end loses.
A good interview can throw a media-trained star off their game and make them reveal natural and insightful reactions. So can a bad interview.
Matt and Dev commentate on their own gut-wrenching cringes during this ...masterclass in experimental interview techniques.
