Springwatch/Winterwatch are produced by ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Studios for broadcast, use and exploitation by the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½. We are responsible for handling the personal information you provide, including your contribution, in accordance with data protection law.
What information we collect and how we us it
When you submit user generated content (UCG), ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Studios will collect and process your name, contact number, home address, email address and the photo, footage or video information you are sharing with us. We may use this information to contact you if we are interested in finding out more about your submission.
ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Studios relies on its legitimate interests as a media organisation to process your personal information. We will not process your personal information where your rights override our interests.
Such personal data will generally be restricted to relevant members of the programmes production team and crew, as well as the programmes third party experts (where relevant)
Retaining your personal information
We will securely store the information you submit for up to 18 months. We do this in case we wish to contact you about your photos or video footage and interests for the next series. If we feature your photos or video footage then your information will be further retained for that purpose.
Sharing your information
Your personal information will generally be restricted to relevant members of The Watches production team and crew, as well as the programme’s third party presenters (where relevant). Where necessary, we may also share information with other ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Studio staff and the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½, with our professional advisors and, from time to time, with other programmes that may have an interest in your contribution.
