Ghandi the monkey: cute or the weirdest thing you’ve ever seen?
25 June 2019
As Alan Partridge’s Monkey Tennis proved, inserting a monkey into any creative idea gives it the potential to stand out ...sometimes for the wrong reason!
Will Anderson and Ainslie Henderson did exactly that with their stylish animation Monkey Love Experiments — and the move paid off brilliantly: the animator duo for their efforts. You can decide for yourself whether monkey protagonist Ghandi is cute or a just a little bit weird.
The critically acclaimed animation is part of Next Big Thing, a series showcasing the best up-and-coming filmmakers in Scotland.

Getting his ‘mum’ back means the world to Ghandi, but he can see a world out the window.
The Pigeons
Will and Ainslie also created short animations starring two plucky, feathered friends – The Pigeons – which followed a pigeon duo as they embarked on a tour of Scotland, sharing their unique take on the cultural goings-on in the various cities and towns they visited.

Acting up in Perth
As the pigeons found themselves in Scotland’s historical capital, their conversation took a turn to include some rather blatant namedropping of a Perthshire-born Hollywood star with whom one of the pair once acted.
