Classic ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ documentary series, first broadcast in 1964. Britannia no longer rules the waves as the Royal Navy suffers shattering defeats.
The sixth episode in the epic series turns to the battle of the sea. British confidence in the Royal Navy was to be shattered as it suffered defeats - the worst one off Coronel on 1st November, 1914. An astonished world wondered at these spectacular disasters, failing to see beyond them to a time when German shipping would all but disappear from the seas.
This series will continue in February 2015.
