Libby Potter meets the commuters who enjoy their homes in Spain or France and work in Britain - thanks to cheap air travel, flexible working and better communication technology.
Britain's commuters have the worst deal in all Europe. We spend longer in our cars and trains than anyone else. But now there's a revolution going on among the workforce as more and more people are moving to Europe and still keeping their job in the UK. It's all thanks to cheap air travel, the growth of flexible working and better communication technology.
The Money Programme's Libby Potter meets these dream commuters who enjoy their homes in France or Spain and travel regularly back to Britain for their job. She looks at why this trend is likely to gather pace later this year when the new high speed Chunnel link comes into operation, and asks is it really possible to have it all?
