It captures the trials and tribulations that each of them face during the process of learning a musical instrument, following how they fare as they dedicate themselves to a rigorous musical regime of lessons, practice sessions and public performances. All this hard work is geared towards one virtuoso solo performance.
In this edition, stand up comedian and broadcaster Jo Brand takes up the enormous challenge of learning to play the organ from scratch for a major concert at The Royal Albert Hall. Though Jo had piano lessons at school, its some thirty years since she’s faced a keyboard. Now she lives her dream of learning to play the immensely complex and powerful Toccata by Bach to eight thousand people. Narrated by Tamsin Greig.
