This is the year, says David Cameron, for the Conservative Party to present its clear and credible alternative to Gordon Brown's government. At the centre of the strategy is a portrait of Britain as a broken society. The Tories say they have the fresh ideas to fix it and many of those ideas have come from Iain Duncan Smith, their former leader who is now the party's thinker on social issues. Stephen Sackur talks to him about whether Britain is ready to embrace Tory solutions to society's ills.
