Alan Whicker narrates a spirited journey around the UK, pinpointing the special places that have inspired and affected our major comic talents. The Donald Brothers, Simon and Chris, disturb the peace in the Newcastle Victorian terrace where they gave birth to legendary anarchic comic Viz. Writer Ian Le Frenais trawls the Newcastle suburbs to visit the haunts of the Likely Lads and recreate the legendary title sequence. Dropping down to Yorkshire, Maureen Lipman goes back to her comic roots in Hull, where she first got laughs by placing fake dog business on the steps of her fathers's tailor shop, while Leigh Francis revisits his old college in Leeds where he introduces us to the 'real Avid Merrion' and investiages the loft in his old house with startling consequences.
