Episode 4
Episode 4 of 8
Elizabeth Blunt, one of the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½'s first female foreign correspondents, joins Colin Blane to share stories from her remarkable career.
We now take it for granted that the world of journalism is populated with flack- jacketed Kate Adies and Orla Guerins so it seems extraordinary to think that it was actually only as recently as 1986 that the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ first employed women as foreign correspondents. Elizabeth Blunt was one of those first female journalists. Colin Blane catches up with Liz in London on a rare break away from her beloved Africa where she still reports and where, in the course of her career, she became so famous a school was named after her.
