Michael Berkeley's guest is Scottish crime writer Ian Rankin, whose Inspector Rebus novels have been dramatised for TV, starring John Hannah and Ken Stott as the eponymous Edinburgh detective. He has just started a new series with a different police hero, Inspector Malcolm Fox.
Ian came late to classical music, but now loves Bach, Mozart and Vivaldi as well as the sound of the Celtic harp, and music to film soundtracks by Vladimir Cosma, Coleman Hawkins and Michael Nyman.
