Antiques series. Paul Martin and experts Mark Stacey and Catherine Southon value collectibles in the port of Dover, followed by an auction in the cathedral city of Canterbury.
Presenter Paul Martin is joined by experts Mark Stacey and Catherine Southon as they value antiques and collectibles in the Kent port of Dover, followed by an auction in the cathedral city of Canterbury.
Among the items which flood through the doors of the Dover's town hall, Mark becomes enchanted with a Meissen figurine and hopes that it will hold a similar allure for the bidders at auction. Catherine falls in love with a Minton jardinière whose owners have put it to unusual use over the years. Paul finds something of local interest - a portrait of Lady Dover.
Taking a break and heading down to the seafront in Dover, Paul learns about the tough physical challenge of swimming the English Channel, and he is lucky enough to make the acquaintance of a local lady who conquered the waters.
