Russell celebrates the greats of Tin Pan Alley, Hollywood and Broadway, including a tribute to American author O Henry and further memories of Lena Horne.

Russell greets a new month through a famous June song in a curious version - the 'fragrant' cabaret artiste Hildegarde takes the usually muscular June Is Bustin' Out All Over for a gentle trot.

June 5th being the 100th anniversary of the death of author O Henry, who coined the term "Banana Republic", gives Russell an excuse to play a silly old novelty tune, I've Never Seen A Straight Banana, before a few songs are linked by a 'lights' theme. The programme concludes with the second part of Russell's tribute to the late Lena Horne.
