Colin Murray presents the best of the action and reaction from the day's opening Group E encounters as Holland meet Denmark and Japan take on Cameroon. There are also highlights from the late kick-off in Group F involving Italy and Paraguay.

Holland enjoyed a stellar qualifying campaign and are among the pre-tournament favourites, but they face a tough opening match against a Denmark side who also impressed during qualification. In the other Group E match, Japan face a powerful Cameroon side led by Inter Milan striker Samuel Eto'o.

Reigning World Cup holders Italy kick-off the defence of their crown against Paraguay, who they haven't faced at a World Cup since a 2-0 win in 1950.
