Ilan Volkov conducts the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Scottish Symphony Orchestra in Schumann: Symphony No 4 in D minor (original version). Elgar: Concerto in B minor (soloist - Ilya Gringolts).

Today's focus on the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Scottish Symphony Orchestra at the St Magnus Festival in Orkney turns the spotlight on a highlight from their visit in 2004. The orchestra's then Chief Conductor Ilan Volkov directs Schumann's original 1841 version of his 4th Symphony, and for the Elgar Violin Concerto the orchestra is joined by Ilya Gringolts, a former ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ New Generation artist and regular soloist with the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ SSO.
