Ian McMillan presents a special live edition of Radio 3's cabaret of the word, featuring new writing from AL Kennedy and Christopher Ricks on his new book True Friendship.

Radio 3’s much-loved cabaret of the word returns to the Radio Theatre on Friday 9th July!

Poet, broadcaster and Bard of Barnsley Ian McMillan, “the Shirley Bassey of performance poetry”, will be joined on stage by celebrated novelist AL Kennedy, who’ll be giving a special sneak preview of her latest novel, and by Christopher Ricks, the man who WH Auden called “the kind of critic every poet dreams of finding.” There’ll be poetry and comedy from Tim Key, best known for his appearances on Charlie Brooker’s Newswipe and ѿý 4’s We Need Answers and music from sensational singer songwriter Ana Silvera, fresh from wowing audiences at the Hay festival.

Live from the ѿý Radio Theatre, Broadcasting House, Portland Place, London on Friday 9th July. Doors open at 8.45pm.
