ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ SSO under Martyn Brabbins. Mozart: Overture (Der Schauspieldirektor). Liszt: Piano Concerto No 1. Rimsky-Korsakov: Scheherazade. Dillon: La navette. Tchaikovsky: Symphony No 2.

With Louise Fryer

Marking the 75th anniversary of the formation of the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Scottish Symphony Orchestra, this Prom recreates the programme from 1962 when they first appeared at the Proms, with the addition of the UK premiere of James Dillon's single-movement 'La navette' which weaves string and woodwind textures across a sturdy framework of brass and percussion. A Mozart overture and two perennial Russian favourites are complemented by Liszt's virtuosic showpiece concerto with pianist Boris Giltburg. Presented by Martin Handley.
