05/01/2011 Leon McCawley, Mitsuko Uchida

Sean Rafferty presents a selection of Mozartian music and guests, including pianist Mitsuko Uchida.

Today is Piano Day in which we celebrate the breadth and depth of Mozart's piano writing. Mozart expert Cliff Eisen looks at the many types of piano that Mozart used during his lifetime. Sean is joined by pianist Leon McCawley, who performs Mozart's Fantasia in C minor K. 475 and Sonata in F K. 494/533 live in the studio. Also appearing is Mitsuko Uchida who has just recorded a second CD of Mozart piano concertos directing the Cleveland Orchestra from the keyboard.
