With the Oscars upon us, and The King's Speech leading the field with 12 nominations, Russell presents a show almost exclusively devoted to kings - singers, songwriters and songs.

First, though, he pays a tribute to movie and TV star, Betty Garrett, who has just died at the age of 91, with two samples from her career - the Humphrey Bogart Rhumba from a 1949 revue, and Come Up to My Place, with Frank Sinatra from On the Town.

In 1941 Billy Cotton and his band recorded The King Is Still in London with his regular vocalist - Alan Breeze - who had a stammer more extreme than the King's. Thereafter, we hear singer Morgana King (twice), The King's Singers, The King Sisters, Andy Williams - singing a song by Chas E King; Ava Gardner singing How Am I to Know, written by Dorothy Parker and Jack King; Show Me the Way to Go ѿý (written by Hal Swain, Reg Connelly and Jimmy Campbell, who were billed as 'Irving King'!

Next we hear a famous Carole King song sung by Bing Crosby; a classic jazz number by King Oliver, played by Jelly Roll Morton's Red Hot Peppers and the rarely-heard Sandra King.
