Sean Rafferty's final day at the West Cork Chamber Music Festival 2011, and music recorded in the splendid Palladian surrounds of the Library at Bantry House. Bartok's Contrasts was composed in Budapest in 1938 as the result of a commission from Benny Goodman, who had requested a piece that fitted on the two sides of a 12" 78 record and Dvorák's Piano No. 2 in A - one of the finest piano quintets and certainly one of the most beautiful openings of all chamber music - ends this series of music from the West Cork Chamber Music Festival 2011.
