The School of Scottish Studies of Edinburgh University has published Tocher for the last 40 years. The journal contains songs, stories, music, customs, beliefs, local history, rhymes and riddles transcribed from tapes held in the sound archive. Beathag Morrison selects material from Barra, North and South Uist and Lewis. She also has material from Berneray and the Isle of Skye.
