Another chance to hear a Prom concert marking the 400th anniversary of the death of great Spanish Renaissance composer Victoria performed by one of the world's leading specialists in early music - the Tallis Scholars. At the heart of their programme is Victoria's glorious Requiem - composed in 1603 for the funeral rites of the Dowager Empress Maria, sister of Philip II of Spain - a summation and a farewell to the music of Spain's Golden Age.
