This trip takes John Craven and Jules Hudson on a loop around the ancient Forest of Dean and the dramatic Welsh valleys to discover the rich history being preserved above and below the ground. Even after pit closure in the 80s, the spirit of mining is still strong here, with many communities working hard to keep in touch with their past.
The duo meet a free miner attempting to draw in the crowds with an underground experience and they take to the floor at a beautiful memorial hall that's being saved for locals to enjoy.
