The final concert of the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Symphony Orchestra's season sees their outgoing Chief Conductor Jiri Belohlavek in a wonderful programme of romantic music. Brahms's virtuosic violin concerto comes to life in the hands of German violinist Isabelle Faust. Josef Suk's The Ripening portrays 'the joys and tragic shadows of life' and at the end brings in a wordless female chorus to sing a 'hymn of affirmation'.
