Penny Gore introduces recordings by the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ SO taken from recent international tours. Today, the Paganini Variations by Rachmaninov, made in Bad Kissingen, Germany in 2008 with Jean-Yves Thibaudet as soloist under Jiri Belohlavek, followed by a recording made last month of Shostakovich's Symphony No. 4, under Jukka-Pekka Saraste, as part of the Radio Festival in Bucharest. Followed by Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue with Benjamin Grosvenor at the piano, and another Shostakovich masterpiece, The Gadfly Suite written for the film and conducted by his son Maxim.
