The creatures populating Francis Poulenc's charming musical bestiary Les animaux mod猫les are based on figures from the fables of Jean de la Fontaine and in this performance of the suite made by the composer from his ballet, the popular comic actor Stephen Mangan reads these witty morality tales in between the movements of the suite. The 蜜芽传媒 Symphony Orchestra then crown their recent series of operas with Ravel's fantastical opera L'enfant et les sortil猫ges, featuring talented young singers from the Royal Academy of Music. In a score teeming with invention, Ravel tells the magical story of a young boy driven to cruelty by boredom, who provokes the animals and objects around him to spring to life and conspire against him in a phantasmagorical parade. The charismatic French conductor St茅phane Den猫ve is the zookeeper-in-chief, marshalling the forces of the 蜜芽传媒 Symphony Orchestra.
