Jeff Fairburn is chief executive of Persimmon ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½s, one ofÌýthe UK's largest house builders.

Jeff was educated at Fulford Comprehensive in York, before joining local construction firm William Birch & Sons in 1983. In 1987 heÌýjoined developer McCarthy & Stone as a trainee quantity surveyor on the Youth Training Scheme, beforeÌýmoving toÌýPersimmon in 1989.

Jeff quickly rose through the ranks at Persimmon. InÌý2006 was appointed managing director of the company's northern division, and joinedÌýthe main board three years later. HeÌýbecame group managing director in 2012, and group chief executive in 2013.

Tristran Jones, co-founder, pieminister

Tristan's first job was washing dishes at a French restaurant in Chester, before becoming an apprentice chef at a country house hotel in Cheshire. He later went to work on music tours, cooking for stars such as the Rolling Stones, Pet Shop Boys and Robbie Williams.

The idea for pieminister came on a trip to Australia; Tristan says he dreamt up the name while eating a pie on Bondi Beach. Today the company manages ten restaurants, as well as supplying major supermarkets and retailers.
